Beginners Yoga Workshop

The Shala, West Norwood

Just getting started or coming back from a break? Gain confidence, learn the fundamentals and build a great foundation on which to attend yoga classes or start a home practice.  

 

This 2.5 hour workshop will help you develop the foundations of a yoga practice and explore the ancient philosophy that underpins it. You will learn a range of asanas (yoga postures) and how to effectively use props, with alignment as the emphasis. Explore standing poses, forward & back bending, twists and some basic inversions. 

 

Breath and alignment will be focused on to create a stable and safe practice and time will be given to explore short sequences, experiencing how the practice can become a moving meditation.

 

Open to all. This workshop is ideal for beginners, but all levels of practitioner can benefit from exploring the alignment essentials presented in this workshop.​​
